Enrollment is first come, first served with an application deadline of September 30, 2026. Start by scheduling a tour using the calendar on this page. Required documents include a birth certificate, proof of residency, medical history, and a completed application. There is no application fee.
We serve students in Kindergarten through 8th grade (K-8). The grade levels with the most open seats currently are Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 5th grade. Typically 4-5 seats are available per grade level, so we encourage families to apply early.
Thomas A. Edison Charter School is a tuition-free public charter school. There is no application fee, no tuition, and no hidden costs. Transportation is also provided at no charge to families throughout New Castle County.
Scholars wear blue or white shirts with khaki or blue pants, skirts, or bottoms. We provide uniform assistance to families who need support obtaining uniforms, so please don't let this be a barrier to enrollment.
Yes! Free bus transportation is available with stops on corners and at hub locations throughout New Castle County. The school has a great reputation for accessible transportation that reaches families all over the county.
Thomas A. Edison Charter School provides full Special Education (ESE) support, including MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports), Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), counseling, and behavior support and interventions. Every scholar gets the support they need to thrive.
